Nine matches in the 18th round of the DAIKIN men’s handball Bundesliga in the 2024/25 season were held across Germany for three days from the 7th to the 9th.
In the first game of the second half of the year, the top five teams all won, while the bottom five all lost. Leading MT Melsungen has won seven straight, THW Kiel third has won eight in a row, while Potsdam 1. VfL Potsdam has lost all 16.
There was no significant change in the rankings, but 11th-ranked Hamburg added one point to the 10th place as it drew 30-30 with seventh-ranked Rhein-Neckar Löwen.
TBV Lemgo Lieppe, who was ranked 10th, fell to 11th place with only 16 points in a 31-34 loss to eighth-place ThSV Eisenach.
MT Meljungen is 14th place, FRISCH AUF! It defeated Göpingen 30–23 to maintain its lead, and second-place Berlin trailed 18th-place Potsdam with a 36–19 victory.
Third-place THW Kill defeated sixth-place SC Magdeburg 31-25, while TSV Hanover-Burgdorf defeated 12th-place SC Leipzig 24-23 to stay in fourth place.
Since the points from second to fourth place are all the same with 28 points, they are competing closely, and as soon as they lose, fifth-ranked SG Flensburg-Handewitt is chasing with 26 points, they may be pushed to fifth place.
SG Flensburg defeated 17th-ranked HC Erlangen 32–26. No. 13 HSG Wetzlar defeated No. 16 SG BBM Bietigheim 28-27, while No. 9 VfL Gummersbach defeated No. 15 TVB Stuttgart 36-29.
