Columbus Fury captain and outside hitter Megan Lush has been named to the Pro Volleyball Federation All-Star roster, the league announced on Tuesday.
This is the second year of the PVF’s operation, but the first year that the league has named an all-star team, making Lush and 23 others part of an inaugural game in Indianapolis on February 22nd. It will air on CBS Sports.
Every team is represented. Lush is the only player going from the 1-7 Fury.
“The rosters for this unprecedented match are flat-out outstanding,” Pro Volleyball Federation CEO Jen Spicher said in a statement. “Putting these two teams together was a massive and difficult task based on how many great players there are in this league.”
Lush will play on Team Collier, named for its coach, Georgia Tech’s Michelle Collier. The other squad is led and named after Dave Shondell of Purdue.
A combination of more than 10,000 fan votes, coaches’ input and statistical analysis by the league went into roster selection. Lush has 86 digs, 55 kills, 10 blocks, and nine assists this season.
She is a Penn State alum and a Kettering, Ohio, native. This offseason, Lush helped coach the Ohio State men’s volleyball team.
The Fury play host to the Orlando Valkyries on Wednesday. Game time at Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m.
